Aimtec announces the release of the AME1-JZ, AME2-JZ and AME3-CJZ series AC-DC converters: These new series of regulated converters are available in 1, 2 and 3 watt configurations. The 1 & 2 watt series are packaged in a miniature size of only 33.70(l) x 22.20(w) x 18.00(h) mm (1.33 x 0.87 x 0.71 inches). The 3 watt measures 37.00 x 24.50 x 18.00 mm (1.46 x 0.96 x 0.71 inches).

Features include: Input / Output isolation of 3000 VAC, over current protection, over voltage protection, short circuit protection, and Energy Star compliance (no-load power consumption less than 0.3 watt).

These new AC-DC power converters will expedite and simplify industrial and commercial product design in a highly affordable solution while offering the smallest possible footprint. The standard package is available with 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15 and 24 VDC output ranges, with a universal input of 85 to 305VAC, 47 to 63Hz, or 120 to 430 VDC for the AME1-JZ and AME2-JZ series and 85 to 264VAC, 47 to 63Hz, or 100 to 370 VDC for the AME3-CJZ. Operational temperature range of all models is -25ºC to 70ºC with derating starting at 55 ºC. UL listed.

Target applications include smart lighting controls, building automation, test equipment, laboratories, water dispensers, security systems, electric vehicle battery charging systems, electrical metering, and high voltage PSUs.

The MAX17541G high-efficiency, high-voltage, synchronous step-down DC-DC converter with integrated MOSFETs operates over 4.5V to 42V input. The converter can deliver up to 500mA and generates output voltages from 0.9V up to 0.92 x VIN. The feedback (FB) voltage is accurate to within ±1.7% over -40°C to +125°C.
The MAX17541G uses peak-current-mode control with pulse-width modulation (PWM) and operates with fixed 600kHz switching frequency at any load. The device is available in a 10-pin (3mm × 2mm) TDFN package. Simulation models are available.

Osram Opto Semiconductors now offers its extremely compact high-power Synios IRED for automotive applications

A new infrared LED from Osram Opto Semiconductors reduces the size of lighting units for camera-based assistance systems in cars. Compared to the Platinum Dragon previously used, Synios SFH 4770S A01 offers 25 percent higher optical output and needs only about one tenth of the footprint.

Osram Opto Semiconductors presents two new sensors for monitoring fitness levels. Their main benefit is the excellent signal quality for heart rate measurements, which allows the derivation of secondary measurement parameters such as blood pressure. The SFH 7072 has also been further optimized for determining the oxygen saturation of blood (SpO2). Samples for the SFH 7070 are expected end of November – for the SFH 7072 end of this year.
